White Tea Pinning Ceremony on May 16, 2024
The pinning ceremony for Nursing RN-BS Completion, Nursing, AAS (RN), and Practical Nurse Certificate graduates. The White Tea Pinning Ceremony has its roots in history back to the late 1800s when Florence Nightingale pinned her nurses upon the completion of their nursing education, signifying their entry into the profession. The Maria College pin represents the commitment of the College and the Sisters of Mercy to the caring service of others and Florence Nightingale’s vision of shared knowledge and life-long learning. Family and friends of our nursing students attend this beautiful event to bear witness to this sacred tradition.
Date: Thursday, May 16, 2024
Time: 4:00 pm (guest seating opens at 3:30 pm)
Location: Maria College Campus, Great Lawn between Marian Hall and Main Building
Parking: Maria College campus parking lots
Attire: Professional attire requested
There will be a portrait photographer at the event from The Graduate Company to capture a picture of each nursing graduate. Your Maria College email address was provided to the photography company and they will be reaching out to you with information on how to purchase photos from the event. There will also be a general event photographer present to capture the event and the images will be uploaded to a gallery on this page after they are available.
