Maria College’s mission has undergone a revitalization in the past four years, focusing more intently on the college’s heritage, values, and identity as a Mercy, Catholic institution of higher education. This renewal of mission integration more firmly integrates the college’s core identity and infuses it in all aspects of the college’s operations. The mission office is planning to launch the Maria Institute in 2022 to provide a comprehensive mission program to the Maria College community and beyond. The Mission Office will be focused on the animation of the Mercy mission as guided by the new CMHE Covenant model of sponsorship. A focus on partnerships, both new and expanded, and external relations is an important element of the advancement work over the next seven years. This will include a re-branding initiative to advance the community perception of Maria, a major gifts effort to focus on the resources needed for the next phase of Maria’s growth, and internal governance and culture.
