Circles of Mercy | Maria College Sponsor 2018 Mercy Walk
Saturday, April 7 11am

ALBANY, NY, March 1, 2018 – On Saturday, April 7th from 11am to 2pm, volunteers who will participate as, “walkers” will gather at Maria College on 700 New Scotland Avenue as part of Circles of Mercy spring fundraising event, “Widening the Circle of Mercy.”

Check-in will take place at Marian Hall (adjacent to the parking lot on New Scotland Avenue). The first 50 walkers will receive a free t-shirt. The walk course is a 2K or 1.24 miles in length and will take walkers from Maria College’s Marian Hall, south to Whitehall Road, then east on Whitehall Road to South Manning Boulevard, then north on South Manning Boulevard, to Maria College’s McAuley Building (308 South Manning Boulevard, opposite St. Peter’s Hospital).

Participants will be provided a tour of Maria College that will include the Frank E. O’Brien, Jr. Student Support Center—a state of the art facility offering holistic services to students. There will also be refreshments.

Richard S. Zazycki, Circles of Mercy Executive Director and Mercy Associate, stated, “Our hope that the Walk for Mercy becomes one of our annual fundraising events. The last community walk raised $3,000 from generous supporters. Donations help to provide services to low-income and disenfranchised families and individuals, and to those most in need and vulnerable in our community, especially women and children.”

Free parking is available at Maria College with overflow parking at Bethany Church (west of Maria College on New Scotland Avenue). A canned food donation for the Maria College food pantry is welcome.
