College leadership reaffirms commitment to anti-racism and diversity

Maria College President, Dr. Thomas Gamble, and Victoria Battell, RSM, Vice President of Mission, Planning and Student Affairs, Vice President of Mission, Planning and Student Affairs Dean of Students, released the following statement today:

Maria stands in solidarity with the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and the Conference for Mercy Higher Education in calling for peace and non-violence as a merciful response to the recent extremist violence and discrimination in Charlottesville. We emphatically reaffirm our commitment to anti-racism and diversity and to recognizing the inherent dignity and equality of the entire human family.  Maria College will not tolerate discrimination, bigotry, threats or violence in any form and will ensure employees, students and visitors feel safe and respected.

Maria students who have any questions or concerns are encouraged to visit the Student Support Center, Mercy Hall.
