The authors of Nurses in War, Voices from Iraq and Afghanistan will present their research and stories of courage and resilience of combat nurses on April 17 and 18, as a joint sponsorship by Maria College and Saratoga Hospital.
For two consecutive days, authors, Elizabeth Scannell-Desch, PhD, RN, and Mary Ellen Doherty, PhD, RN, CNM, will present their research in the following two sessions demonstrating the heroism, determination and dedication of nursing teams serving in the Middle East:

This session will focus on the results of the research describing the emergent themes of nurses’ personal and professional growth as they learned to work in difficult conditions while missing family and caring for the soldiers and citizens of the country.

This session will address the reconstruction of the method of phenomenology research as an exciting and valuable contribution to the body of nursing knowledge.
