Maria College is excited to announce the launch of our Alumni Oral History Project, a unique initiative designed to capture and preserve the rich tapestry of experiences from our cherished alumni. This project aims to document the profound impact Maria College has had on shaping the lives and careers of our graduates, particularly in the healthcare sector.
The Project
Every Maria College graduate has a story to tell, and we want to hear yours. As a small but influential institution, Maria College has played a crucial role in developing the healthcare workforce of New York State’s Capital Region, especially in nursing and occupational therapy. Your experiences and memories are an integral part of our legacy, and we want to ensure they are preserved for future generations of Monarchs.
To make this project a reality, we’ve partnered with Publishing Concepts (PCI), a company specializing in capturing oral histories. PCI’s trained staff will conduct interviews with our alumni, listening to and recording your unique Maria College stories.
Your Story
What Maria College memory will you share?
- Did a particular faculty member or clinical experience shape your career path?
- How did your time at Maria College prepare you for your role in healthcare?
- Can you recall a defining moment during your studies that influenced your professional journey?
- Have the connections you made at Maria College turned into lasting professional relationships?
- Were you part of any significant developments or changes at the college during your time here?
- How has your Maria College education contributed to your ability to serve the community?
PCI Partnership
By collaborating with PCI, we’re able to undertake this ambitious project despite our limited resources. PCI will not only conduct the interviews but also compile the stories into a commemorative book that will celebrate the Maria College experience. Please note that we have only shared your contact information with PCI for this specific project. We have not sold your information or used it for any external marketing purposes.
Participation and Book Purchase
Participation in this project is entirely voluntary and free of charge. The project is funded by alumni who choose to purchase the commemorative book that will be produced at the end of the project. Various book packages will be available for purchase, but there is no obligation to buy anything to participate in the project.
What’s Next?
In the coming weeks, you will receive communications from PCI with instructions on how to participate. We invite you to share your story and be part of this landmark project that honors the experiences and voices of our alumni. The PCI team will be collecting stories for a limited time, after which they will enter a post-production phase to edit and compile the data.
We look forward to hearing from each of you about your memories of Maria College, the institution that has played such a vital role in shaping the healthcare landscape of our region.
Stay Connected
If you’ve moved or changed your contact information, this project provides an excellent opportunity to update your details. This will help us keep you informed about Maria College news and events. If you don’t receive a communication from PCI, please contact them directly to ensure we have your current information.
We’re excited to embark on this journey of remembrance and celebration with you, our valued alumni. Your stories are an essential part of Maria College’s legacy, and we can’t wait to hear them.
