Maria College is honored to announce that with our thanks to donor, Richard Siek we have established a new endowed scholarship supporting veterans enrolled in the RN Associates Degree Program at the Andrea Lewis Siek School of Nursing. The Chief Petty Officer Richard E. Siek Veterans Scholarship will award $1,000 to a second-year student who has served in active duty in one of the five branches of the United States Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard) and consistently demonstrates qualities of leadership and outstanding service to fellow students and to the community, and who meets the other criteria of the Scholarship.
A decorated Navy veteran with over 36 years of service, Rich is active in multiple organizations that support veterans. And just one year ago, Maria College unveiled the Andrea Lewis Siek School of Nursing, honoring Rich’s late wife. We are grateful for Rich’s commitment to the service of others in remembrance of Andrea, and his brothers in arms, especially on this day of Remembrance for the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice at Pearl Harbor.
