1958-2023: Maria Celebrates 65 Years
On April 25, 1958, on behalf of the New York State Education Department, the Board of Regents granted a charter to found Maria College. This year is a celebratory milestone as we look back on how Maria has evolved over 65 years providing opportunity education in high-demand careers to all who can benefit.
The Sisters of Mercy founding principles continue to move us forward and core to our culture are these mission and values. We are marking our 65th year anniversary with a 65th Anniversary Celebration, along with an Inaugural Lecture, Interfaith Prayer Service, and the installation of Maria College’s 6th president, Dr. Lynn Ortale, who began her role in July 2022. Other activities include a 65th Anniversary Alumni Recognition initiative to highlight their stories of transformation.
Lastly, the College is asking friends and alumni of Maria College to donate $65 in honor of our 65th Anniversary.
