Applying for Financial Aid

Maria College encourages all enrolled students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), in addition to applying for federal grants and loans the need determination resulting from completing the FAFSA is often used in awarding other funding such as scholarships.

Steps to completing your federal and state aid applications:

  1. If you have never completed the FAFSA you will need to obtain a FSA ID at studentaid.gov.

    • If you are considered a dependent for your aid, you and a parent/guardian will both need a separate FSA ID

  2. Log into the FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov.

    • Use your/your parents (if you are a dependent) 2023 federal tax return

    • Complete the FAFSA application for the 2025-2026 academic year

    • The school code for Maria College is: 002763

    • Sign the FAFSA using your FSA ID(s)

  3. If you are a NY State Resident and plan to enroll full-time, you should complete the NYS TAP Application. State aid is only available in the Fall and Spring semesters.

    • Log-on at hesc.ny.gov

    • Use your/your parents (if you are a dependent) 2023 NYS tax return

    • Complete the TAP application for the 2025-2026 academic year

    • The code for Maria College is:
      2093 for Associate Degree Applicants
      6093 for Bachelor Degree Applicants

    • Sign the TAP application using your HESC PIN(s)

  • Maria College Scholarships – Maria College is fortunate to have many donor-funded scholarships that help support students. Each scholarship is meant to help support students on their transformative journey while here at Maria College. Visit the page to view the current list of funds and apply.
  • Tuition Partnerships – Maria College partners with a variety of third-party sponsors that provide funding to affiliated students. Students whose tuition and fees are to be paid by an employer, agency, or other sponsor, must have authorization on file with the Student Accounts office.
  • ELMSelect – Maria College allows undergraduate, and graduate students to research and compare high-quality private education lenders that other Monarchs have used successfully. Students are welcome to use lenders not included on this list. The ElmSelect lender list is reviewed and subject to change annually.
